You’ll collaborate with our marketing team to keep SCFF looking cohesive, imaginative, and unmistakably Santa Cruz.

Bring good taste and great organization to the table. We’re looking for someone to lead the planning of our food and wine experiences, from intimate fundraising dinners to festival celebrations. You’ll help recruit restaurant, chef, winery, and culinary partners; coordinate menus and donated contributions; and work with our team on budgets, timelines, volunteers, and event logistics. An eye for hospitality, clear communication, and the ability to keep the details moving will help make every gathering feel welcoming and thoughtfully produced.

Prefer spreadsheets to parties? We have a role for you. Help keep the festival’s finances organized, accurate, and ready for the next chapter. We need someone comfortable maintaining financial records, categorizing income and expenses, reconciling accounts, tracking receipts and reimbursements, and preparing clear reports for our leadership team. You’ll also help monitor budgets, organize documentation, and coordinate with accounting or tax professionals to support required filings and compliance. Bookkeeping experience, discretion, and dependable follow-through are essential; nonprofit experience is especially welcome.

Turn your passion for the arts into lasting support. Help us build the relationships and resources that keep independent film and arts education growing in our community. This committee needs people who can identify potential sponsors and donors, make introductions, help shape compelling sponsorship proposals, research grants, and follow up with care. Whether you’re comfortable making the ask or prefer organizing outreach behind the scenes, your persistence and personal touch can turn a first conversation into an ongoing partnership.

Calling all social butterflies and community connectors. Help fill the room with people who will love being part of SCFF. Invite friends and colleagues, introduce new supporters to the festival, share event information with your networks, and help guests feel welcome when they arrive. We’re looking for enthusiastic ambassadors who will personally reach out and follow through. For every ten friends who buy a ticket, you’ll receive one ticket to enjoy yourself or give as a gift!

Bring the team together and keep the festival moving. Help recruit, prepare, and support the volunteers who make SCFF possible. You’ll match people with roles that suit their interests and skills, build shift schedules, and coordinate coverage for screenings, events, filmmaker transportation, and pre-festival tasks. Responsibilities include leading volunteer Zoom orientations, keeping everyone informed through our volunteer app, organizing T-shirt and badge pickup, and tracking hours and earned benefits. During the festival, each October, you’ll be the volunteers’ go-to person, working with venue and event leads to handle schedule changes and keep things running smoothly. Strong organization, calm problem-solving, and a knack for making people feel welcome and appreciated will serve you well.
